Verity Christian College – which opens its doors to students on January 29 2018 – made the announcement this week.
Pastor Steven Rand said, “the College is thrilled to announce this monumental news. Mr Fox brings to the role, a strong background in teaching and educational leadership as well as a wealth of knowledge of the local Griffith community.”
“His knowledge and wisdom as a long time educator and leadership experience as a Principal in a local high school in Griffith has really benefited the formation of the college,” said Pastor Steven.
The new school, by LifeSource Church, will be a primary school, offering education from kindergarten to year six.
Verity Christian College will be operating under the auspices of Lighthouse Christian College Cranbourne, and the founding principal Mr Jacob Mathews.
“Lighthouse has for a numbers of years, produced exceptional educational outcomes in assessment tools like Naplan, ranking the college in the top one per cent of schools in Australia, while always being mindful to deliver Christ focused education” said Pastor Steven.
Pastor Rand said Curriculum delivery will place great importance on the development of sound literacy and numeracy skills and the building of confident and independent learners. Emphasis will also be placed and guiding and supporting students as they explore and develop their Christian faith.
Mr Fox wants the Griffith Community to know that Verity Christian College is open to all Church going families who desire to see their children educated with a strong Christian worldview. He said the College aims to support the great work of all the Christian Churches of Griffith and to promote unity within the city of Griffith. It will commence by being housed within the facilities of LifeSource Church 2786 Stafford Rd Griffith.
Around 20 per cent of Griffith’s population are affiliated with non-Catholic Christian religions, according to the 2016 ABS Census.
