Around 10.15am on Friday an 18-year-old female with a passenger was driving a Mazda 3 heading west on Wakaden Street.
She became distracted for a short period of time and veered off the roadway and collided with a concrete pole.
The vehicle came to a stop across the roadway blocking traffic, and sustained heavy damage.
Both the driver and the occupant were conveyed to Griffith Base Hospital for assessment.
Police determined alcohol was not a factor in the crash, however the driver was advised she would be receiving an infringement notice for not having proper control of the vehicle.
