After winning the toss and electing to bat Exies made the best start possible with both Jacob Testoni (40) and Mason Ashcroft (31) getting their side off to a flying start.
The pair put on 66 runs in the first 10 overs before Ashcroft was dismissed by Ben Fattore (1/10) but Lucas Irvin (23) was able to pick up where Ashcroft left off.
Testoni was forced into retirement which brought Amandeep Singh (16) to the crease before he was run out by Riley Gatto to have the side at 3/126.
Irvin was finally dismissed with the score on 132, Billy Evans (14), James Roche (34*) and Sam Irvin (11*) hit quick runs to see the side reach 5-193 off their 25 overs.
It was a difficult start for Diggers as they lost Brock Parmenter (0), Joel Schaefer (0), Dean Casey (1) and Cooper O’Connor at 4/7 off four overs with Evans (3/1) and Bohdy Martin (2/5) proved to be tough to deal with.
Ryan Garcia (4) and Fattore (15) looked to try and get the side back on track however with the score on 23 Garcia was run out by Hayden Forner which saw quick wickets fall again to see the side lose five wickets for 14 runs to have Diggers bowled out for 37.
The other game saw Coro Cougars taking on Hanwood with a tough start.
The Cougars lost Jake Rand (0), Jacob Witherspoon (0) and Cooper Rand (3) falling within the first three overs to see the Cougars on 3/7.
Rhys Carnell (9) and Mark Bennett (10) restored some stability to their side’s innings with a 23-run partnership before the pair fell in quick succession to have the side at 5/33.
Ben Signor came out to be the foundation for the Cougars innings and along with Lewis Murphy (14) got the side moving towards the 100 mark with a 57-run stand for the sixth wicket.
When Signor retired after reaching 40 the side’s lost three wickets in quick succession to reach their 25 overs with a total of 8/94.
Hanwood started well with Henry Lacey (6) and Daniel Whitworth (12) providing their side with a foundation to build on with an opening stand of 21.
Whitworth and Tom Bartter made the most of the foundation and were progressing well towards the total before Murphy struck to remove Whitworth and Luke Demamiel (0) in quick succession.
Even after Bartter fell for 38 after he was bowled by Witherspoon (1/2), Aiden Serafin (14) and Jack Cannon (1) guided the side home with just over seven overs remaining and six wickets in hand.
