The annual Festival of Gardens and Real Juice Citrus Sculptures brings thousands of people to the region, and this year didn’t drop the ball.
Chair of the Festival of Gardens Working Group Councillor Rina Mercuri was overwhelmed by the large amount positive feedback she received over the course of the weekend.
“Overall, the whole weekend was amazing, with a lot of great feedback for all of the different event,” Cr Mercuri said.
Garden2Kitchen’s garden guru Phil Dudman and fab foodie Julie Ray were also very well received, with their “Grow your food, know your food, love your food” message.
“Even though there was a terrible set back on Sunday with the sculptures, the community has all rallied behind us in a huge way and their show of support, and help was so heart-warming.”
She said the annual Festival of Gardens launch party, which this year was Beyond Bank Griffith Spring Fest Launch Party, had one of the best turn out’s yet.
“The feedback I received so far has been great, and so far people have come up to me saying that there was so much amazing food, amazing wine and amazing music,” Cr Mercuri said.
The generosity of this town is overwhelming, and I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.

Marketing and Promotion officer for Griffith City Council Paige Campbell said the events gave a welcome boost to the tourism in Griffith.
“In addition to the coach groups, we have had many independent travelers come to Griffith for the festival. The Visitor Centre staff handed Spring Fest programs and Griffith Region guides to more than 2,500 people in the last week,” Ms Campbell said.

“The festival attracted many overnight visitors and day trippers – a terrific boost for the whole region.”
She said Griffith Spring Fest recently hosted 19 out of town coach groups, with 11 of these staying overnight.
“These groups are visiting not only the open gardens and the citrus sculptures, but are visiting our wineries, Pioneer Park Museum, doing farm tours and walks, shopping and eating out,” Ms Campbell said.
Mrs Mercuri would like to extend her sincere thanks to everyone who made this possible.
“I would like to thank the community for all of their support, they always give us tonnes support in everything we do, and the business who sponsored us,” Cr Mercuri said.
“The generosity of this town has been overwhelming, so thanks from the bottom of my heart, the committee and the Griffith City Council.”
