The federal government’s mobile service centre is hitting the road and coming to the Riverina.

The centre, known as ‘Desert Rose’, provides accdess to Centrelink and Medicare services and payments for those in regional communities.
Set up as a portable office, it is equipped with a soundproof room for free hearing checks and is fully wheelchair accessible.
The Desert Rose will visit Rankin Springs, Goolgowi, Hay, Ivanhoe, Hillston and Barellan.
Its sister vehicle, the Golden Wattle, will visit Balranald and Euston/Robinvale.
Federal Member for Farrer, Susan Ley said the mobile centre provided invaluable services for regional communities.
“I encourage anyone who needs to access one or more of these government services to come along and visit when it comes to your community,” Ms Ley said.
Desert Rose:
- Rankins Springs: Friday October 20, 9.30am to 12pm, near the War Memorial Hall on the Mid Western Highway, Rankin Springs
- Goolgowi: Friday October 20, 1.30pm to 4pm, near Pioneer Park on Cobram Street, Goolgowi
- Hillston: Monday October 23, 10am to 3pm, In front of Memorial Park on High Street, Hillston
- Ivanhoe: Tuesday October 24, 10.30am to 3pm, Near the War Memorial on Columbus Street, Ivanhoe
- Hay: Wednesday October 25, 9am to 3.30pm, In front of the Community Hub on Lachlan Street, Hay
- Barellan: Thursday October 26, 9.30am to 2pm, adjacent to the Commercial Hotel on Yapunyah Street, Barellan
Golden Wattle:
- Euston/Robinvale: Tuesday October 24, 10am to 4pm, located near the CFA Building, Bromley Road, Robinvale
- Balranald: Wednesday October 25, 9am to 4pm, located near Greenham Park, Church Street
