A long-time advocate for citrus growers, Mr Mills has stood as a candidate at previous elections.
“It seems that every day and in every way the duopoly and the establishment… are changing their rules to continue the hold,” Mr Mills writes on his how to vote card.
Mr Mills criticises the fact there is no candidate debate in the lead up to the election, and says compulsory voting allows those not interested in voting to “contaminate the results”.
He also wants to eliminate preferential voting.
Mr Mills’ how to vote card preferences Helen Dalton ahead of the Nationals, whom he puts last.
His plan to reverse the decline in growth in Griffith is detailed on his website www.brian-mills.com
Mr Mills was born in Griffith and went to Griffith High School before moving away as an engineer and consultant.
The Murray by-election will be held on October 14. Early voting is now open.
