Dee Barnby, 33, entered the in the Australian Capital Territory I Compete Natural (ICN) body building competition earlier this month.
She placed in the top five in the Ms Bikini Mommas, Ms Bikini 30+ and Ms Bikini Open category, and will now go on to compete in the Australia ICN championships.
Ms Barnby’s achievement is even more remarkable considering she gained a lot of weight shortly after the birth of her daughter Danielle last year.
“I got on the scales a few weeks Danielle was born and I couldn’t believe it, I weighed more than I was pregnant”.
Ms Barnby hit 88kg, but rapidly turned herself around under the mentorship of Jason Grogan at Jason’s Gym.
“Jason encouraged me to eat clean, to give up processed foods. I thought I was eating healthy by having museli bars etc., but those foods had lots of sugars”.
She also started going to Jason’s Gym regularly, training with her baby and mum friends.
“People said it would be impossible to get my body back after giving birth, but I proved them wrong”.
If Ms Barnby competes in the Australian ICN competition in October.
