At 3.30pm Saturday, the Rural Fire Service were called to Litchfield Road in Whitton after being called to a Ford Falcon set alight.
The vehicle was completely guttered by fire, and police were unable to clarify identification numbers on the vehicle to ascertain owners.
Griffith LAC suspect the car was dumped there after being stolen.
After the car was set alight, and perpetrator/s then stole a black Holden Commodore from the property.

A number of thefts across Griffith in the weekend have also kept police busy.
A break and enter occurred on Saturday between 8.30pm and 9.30pm at Griffith East Public School.
The door to the canteen had been kicked open and damaged and a number of food items are alleged to have been stolen.
Inspector Nick Seddon said Griffith LAC are looking for people who may have witnessed anyone coming from the premises at the time of the incident, and encourages witnesses to call crime stoppers.
On the same day, a dressing shed at E.W Moore was broken into, with a large bag of rugby balls were taken.

A Griffith man paid the price for ignoring police orders.
Police saw the 36-year-old man appeared to be intoxicated outside a liscenced premises, and was directed to leave the vicinity.
The man was given the direction to move on, however failed to comply.
He was then issued with $500 fine.

Break and enters continue around Griffith, with three vehicles broken into on the weekend.
Two vehicles on Yambil Street and one vehicle on Erskine Road had one window smashed with property taken from all three, between Friday 11pm and Sunday 9am.
“We would really like people to remove property from the vehicles when leaving them parked, which will deter thieves from smashing windows,” Inspector Seddon said.
