Always dreamed of going to Splendour in the Grass?
Then MYJAM is the place to be on Saturday night.
Headline acts Genevieve Chadwick and Zac Robertson Band will be hitting the stage, but organisers expect revelers to enjoy fabulous food and drinks, and art market.
MY FEST Committee Member Nicola Thoner said MYJAM is all about showcasing young, local talent in a fabulous festival atmosphere.
“There is a huge amount of talent in the region and MYJAM has a huge line up of fantastic young vocalists and bands from across the Riverina performing at this hot new youth festival,” Miss Thoner said.
“There’s a whole range of music styles – but it is all fresh and funky – and will have you on your feet getting into the groove.”
To pump up the festival atmosphere at MY JAM there will be a bunch of great food stalls including The Flowering Zucchini, Shaka Bean and Bella Vita Bar as well as some incredible art stalls by local young artists.
Live music begins at 10am, concluding at 5pm before an evening live gig at the Griffith Regional Theatre including a line up of hip hop trailblazers REMI and SENSIBLE J, smooth soul band WINSTON SURFSHIRT and local talent BEN CECCATO?
MYFEST LIVE is an incredible concert of live music. Catch all the action on Saturday from 7pm at Griffith Regional Theatre.
Tying in with the Youth Festival theme, Remi is only 24 years old.
Melbourne artist and his musical collaborator Sensible J, are one of the fastest-rising Hip Hop acts in Australia, and quickly gaining the attention of international tastemakers.
REMI has been touring his 2016 album to sell Australian shows, continuing the acclaim for his award winning 2014 album RAW X Infinity.
From Sydney’s northern beaches, carving their way into the Australian music scene, Winston Surfshirt are one of country’s most interesting bands.
The six-piece was originally a solo project of singer/producer/rapper Winston Surfshirt and gradually evolved into a musical collective, adopting artists and producers from across the country - a factor largely responsible for their unmistakable sound.
Their unique blend of soul and hip-hop is the auditory equivalent of A Tribe Called Quest splitting spliffs with your parent’s favourite band.
Griffith Regional Theatre’s Marketing Officer Ruby Blumer explains, “You can’t see Winston Surfshirt anywhere in Australia at the moment as they are selling out shows everywhere they go!!”
As well as the two well-known bands that are played regularly on Triple J, Griffith’s very own Ben Ceccato, is on the line up!
“This is an incredibly unique opportunity for anyone who loves authentic live music,” Ms Blumer explains.
“We have put a lot of work into getting artists that would never usually come out to a regional community such as Griffith.
“This is a one-off performance that is not part of a tour which makes this such an awesome and special show!
