Fire Bug crackdown
Griffith Local Area Command is pleading with the community to report directly to them about suspicious activity relating to the cause of recent fires.

“We are getting closer and closer to what will be a bad bush fire season given we’ve had such a dry winter, and these fires are deliberately lit, so we can only assume the worst – someone is practicing for summer,” Chief Inspector John Wadsworth said.
“We would prefer residents to call us directly, because we have got an arsonist in the area and we need to get onto it quickly.”
This comes after two fires on the weekend, one of which was near a controlled burn near Scenic Hill on Saturday, and the other at Parkinson Crescent.
A driver spotted a young male walking away from the Rifle Range Road location at 2.30pm.

Break and enter
Between 9am on Thursday and 10am on Friday, a shed on Olympic Street was broken into.
The thief gained access to the shed which housed a number of push bikes.
A number of bikes were stolen, however police are still investigating the incident.
Vandalism
A building on Poole Street was vandilised between 3pm and 4pm on Saturday.
A number of rocks were thrown windows, causing them to smash.
