Griffith shivered through its coldest August morning in 55 years on Sunday, according to weatherzone.com.au.
The temperature hit zero at midnight Saturday and kept going further south from there.
The lowest point was a minus 4.4 degrees recorded at 6.20am Sunday morning.
Nineteen-year-old Tarasa Barbaro was out partying at the Griffith Leagues Club until the wee hours on Saturday night and felt the chill.
“I was planning to wear a dress out, but due to the weather switched to jeans.”
She said all her friends did as well.
“It was just freezing.”
According to weatherzone, it “felt” even colder, 4.8 degrees.
But it seems as if the cold snap is coming to an end. If you’re considering an early morning jog Tuesday, rest assured, it’ll be a balmy 3 degrees by 6am.
