But some Griffith Witnesses feel so strongly about their worship they've traveled more than six hours to attend one of the the day conventions being staged by Jehovah's Witnesses in the Sydney area this year.
The Salvitti, Croce, Bianchini and Musitano families have traveled the 530 kilometers from Griffith and stayed together in accommodation close to the Witness convention venue.

The families felt it was important to attend the convention because it helps in building and faith strengthening bible based encouragement, helping them deal with every day facets of life.
The convention is where Witnesses gather together with another two thousand delegates to learn about Bible principles, view video presentations and dramas, interviews and related topics.
The Salvitti and Bianchini families took time away from the convention to explain how important the convention is to them.
How does taking the time off to travel and attend the event effect your daily life?
Vince Salvitti - "Working as a sales representative for a very large Australian company, my time on the road is valuable as my clients rely on me visiting them daily. To take a day off work is quite difficult as I need to let my employer know in advance to get time off so I can rearrange my schedule".
Rita Salvitti - "As a student in year 11 in my final term, it is quite difficult to take days off school as I have many assignments and exams coming up".
Hannah Bianchini - "As I work in child care, my employer needs to know what days I am having off in advance as they need to fill my spot with someone extra to work for the day.
Leigh Bianchini - "As a contractor to a building firm, we are on tight schedule. So I need to tell the company in advance so the job can still run smoothly and efficiently"
Was it worth all the trouble and expense?
Mim Salvitti - "It is always good to get reminders and practical advice on rearing children in this mixed up world so we can have a happy family life. So travelling is worth while as we spend time together as a family ."
Rita Salvitti - "It is encouraging to see so many young and old ones symbolise their dedication by water baptism."
Vince Salvitti - "To be at the convention with so many cultures and backgrounds united as one with singing and learning about our heavenly father and his son Jesus Christ: yes it was worth the trouble, expense and inconvenience to our daily lives to travel to be together with our brothers and sisters. Well worth it."
There are nine Jehovah's Witnesses conventions being held in Gledswood Hills between July and September this year with another four left to go, and an expected attendance of at least 20,000 people in total from all over NSW.
