Leeton’s fate hinges on West Wyalong losing to the Griffith Waratah Tigers on Saturday afternoon to then have the ball thrown back in their court. 

If West Wyalong lose, the Greens will then need to beat Yenda on Sunday afternoon. 

If they manage to grab a victory it means they will have secured a spot in fifth and a place in the Group 20 finals. 

The Greens are currently on equal points with Yanco-Wamoon, but their percentage is better. 

It may sound like quite a few hurdles that need to be jumped, but it could easily swing in Leeton’s favour. 

Coach Brent Pike said the team was preparing as though they would be making it through. 

“We’re hoping that’s going to be the case … either way we want to beat Yenda on Sunday,” he said. 

“If it’s the case of playing them to get into the five, it’s even more important. 

“If it’s not, we still want to beat them and win our last game of the season.”

There has been no changes to training this week in preparation for the match either. 

The focus has still been on fitness and skill work, but the team will be changed up ahead of the game. 

James Flood won’t be returning from university this weekend, so the side will need to fill the centre position. 

The game will get underway at Wade Park at around 3pm.
