"Absolutely not," laughed his wife Jesinta Franklin (nee Campbell), who took to the catwalk this week for the David Jones Spring Summer 2017 fashion parade.
"He can play in front of 150,000 people, but I don't think he would feel comfortable on the runway.
"Personally, I think he belongs on the runway, I think he is the most handsome man in the whole wide world, but I don't think I would be able to get him on the runway."
Melbourne model Shanina Shaik and her Miami-based fiance DJ Ruckus were lauded when they took to the David Jones catwalk in swimwear on Wednesday night in front of the creme de la creme of the Australian fashion world, but Jesinta said Buddy's Sydney teammates might take a different view.
"There is a lot of locker-room jibing so I don't think it would go down too well," she told Fairfax Media.
While Franklin might not make a model, he played the part of the supportive husband down to a T, whooping and whistling every time his wife walked past.
The Franklins wed in secret in the tranquil Mount Wilson Wildenstein Gardens in the Blue Mountains last November, surrounded by an intimate number of family and friends.
"The wedding was beautiful, it was an amazing day and we did it our way. It was really special," Jesinta said.
She said married life is "so far so good" and that it does feel different.
"The dynamic changes a little bit, you feel a lot more settled and a really tight unit but other than that the day-to-day stuff doesn't really change," she said.
"We still have to put our rubbish bins out and do five loads of training gear washing every night so that kind of stuff doesn't change but yeah, the dynamic does shift a little."
