FINALS footy will return to Griffith this year with Exies Oval to host the Riverina League first semi-final.

The Riverina League competition management committee decided the remainder of the finals venues on Wednesday night.

Finals returned to Griffith for the first time in almost a decade last year, and Exies Oval has again been chosen as a finals venue.

Narrandera Sportsground will host the qualifying final on September 2, the second semi-final on September 9 and the grand final on September 23.

Robertson Oval will host the elimination final on September 3 and the preliminary final on September 17.

The first semi-final will go to Griffith on September 10.

AFL Riverina operations manager Shane Buchanan said it was a reward for the Griffith community.

“The Griffith community have invested a lot of money into Griffith Ex-Servicemen’s Oval and the Riverina Football Netball League would like to reward the Griffith community for that investment,” Buchanan said.

The way the ladder stands, there is a big chance Griffith’s senior football team will be in action for the final at Exies Oval.

Griffith’s reserve grade and under 17 football team are both on top of the ladder.
