Griggs fronted the AFL Riverina independent tribunal at Ganmain on Thursday night and was handed a one-game suspension.
Griggs pleaded guilty to intentionally or carelessly bumping or making forceful contact to an Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong’s Lachlan Steward from front on when he had his head down over the ball.
Griffith successfully had the charge downgraded to careless, medium and high, that resulted in a one-game suspension.
The initial report had a base sanction of three games, and a two-game suspension with an early guilty plea so it was a successful challenge from the Swans.
Griggs has been in brilliant form this season but the suspension rules him out of this year’s Jim Quinn Medal.
