The Blueheelers started strongly to go into the break up 14-4 but a dominant five-try second half performance has seen them come away with a 42-18 win thanks to two tries each to Geordie McFarlane, Jayden Conaghan and Joshua Lavemai.
West Wyalong was also able to come away with a surprise victory over Black and Whites.
The Mallee Men had it all their own way in the first half to go in at halftime up 20-6. However, the Griffith side refused to back down and fought their way back in the second half.
Three unanswered tries to Gospel Toru, Mosese Butukoro and Andrew Lavaka saw the side take a 22-20 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining.
With seven minutes remaining, Craig Iverach crossed for what turned into the winning try for the Mallee Men to come away with a 26-22 win.
