In this week’s edition of ‘At The Bar’ water expert Micheal ‘Speedy’ Stratton and The Area News’ Liam Warren talk about his performance and discuss whether he is the greatest of all time.
Liam: Roger has once again shown the tennis world his skills on the grass court.
Speedy: I'm a Tennis fanatic and it is one of my favourite sport and I have never seen a tennis player like him. He makes it look so easy. The other bloke Cilic he's not a bad player.
Liam: It looked like the occasion might have gotten to him a bit.
Speedy: Yea it was and it probably didn't help the way Roger was dealing with him. You only see a player like that once in a lifetime. He just makes it look so easy. I have never seen a back hand like he has. When he hits it true, you're not going to get it back and he hits the angles like he is hitting them straight down the middle of the court.
Liam: It nice to see someone like him able to take out the title rather than a spoilt brat.
Speedy: He is such a gentleman, not a loud mouth like some of these other blokes in recent times especially a couple of our fellas. Tomic reckons Australians are jealous of him.
Liam: With some of the rubbish he comes up with I’d be interested to see the world from his perspective.
Speedy: No thanks I'm right here. Even his old man says he has a problem I saw in an article in the paper the other day. He said he has lost it.
Liam: I don’t think he ever had it.
Speedy: That’s another thing but the trouble is he has got the ability, but money will bring you undone.
Liam: Back on Federer how great is it that at his age he can still pull this off.
Speedy: He is 35 years of age and any athlete that plays that type of sport where you are moving all the time and is still the top player. I suppose with winning Wimbledon, he would be close to reclaiming number one. He is the best of the best and he doesn't go off he is not a loud mouth. If he gets beaten, he accepts it in the way you should and it’s the same when he wins.
Liam: Quickly on the women's your tip in Venus Williams came close going down in the final to Muguruza.
Speedy: She ran into a good one in that Spaniard. Venus is 37, a couple of years older than Roger the dodger and she said she is going to come back and have another shot at it and why not if she is up to it and she can keep herself in good nick.
Liam: Just briefly what did you make of the State of Origin decider.
Speedy: Queensland did it again and will keep doing it until NSW come up with systems to match them.
