The staff member was then pursued by the offender as he fled the store.
The perpetrator has been described as wearing light grey track pants, dark grey top and a blue baseball cap with a light grey brim.
A local community service provider was the victim of a break and enter on Saturday evening, when unknown person/s made off with a coin operated washing machine.
The washing machine was subsequently located but damaged beyond repair, with the money stolen.
A 29 year old male from Griffith was taken to hospital in a serious condition from a local licensed premises following a suspected drug overdose in the early hours of Sunday Morning.
The male was admitted to Griffith Base Hospital where he remains in intensive care.
