The school has started up a breakfast program after trialling it during weeks nine and 10 of last term.
It will now run every day in term three, acting principal Tarnya Grigg said.
“Students are on a roster to help take breakfast orders and prepare food,” she said.
“Students are excited about the program and are really keen to be part of the organisation.
“It is a great way to build confidence and equip them with essential life skills.”
The menu each day is both a delicious and healthy one, with a large range of items to choose from.
They include toast, cereal, porridge, yogurt, fruit and even the occasional pancake morning.
The initiative will run from 8.20am to 8.50am each day at a minimal cost.
Yanco Public was also abuzz with activity at the end of last term for its student behaviour reward afternoon.
“Students who followed the school behaviour expectations for all of term two were invited to attend a fun afternoon with teaching staff,” Mrs Grigg said.
“There was lunch/party food, lots of fun games and face painting.
“Next term we will hold a similar event to reward our hard-working students.”
