A close encounter is on the cards when Hanwood Blue take on Griffith City One on Sunday afternoon.

Hanwood will be looking to put successive wins on the board for the first time since the opening two rounds of the season and a win could stay in touch with Yoogali FC One as they battle for third position heading into the later stages of the season.

Griffith City One will be looking to rebound from a heavy loss to Yoogali SC last time and return to the form which saw them defeat Griffith City Two 10-3 a couple of weeks ago.

In their meeting earlier in the season goals to Brad Plos, Daniel Agresta and Ben Favero saw the Hanwood side come away with the win.

Adam Leeson scored a consolation goal for Griffith City as the game ended 3-1.

The two sides will face off in the early game of a doubleheader at Coro Club Oval with the match set for a 1pm start.
