Turvey came out strong in the first and were up 9-5 when the first break rolled around. The Swans refused to give up and both sides went goal for goal in the second to see the Swans go into the main break down by four goals.
It looked as if the Bulldogs would emerge from the encounter victorious as they moved out to a seven-goal lead heading into the final quarter and the Swans had to dig deep.
The Swans took flight in the final term, outscoring their opponent 13-5 which gave them a narrow 31-30 lead which they held onto until the end of the game.
