While they were admittedly not the best team on the park, Yoogali FC One was able to come away with a 2-1 win over West Griffith at EW Moore Oval on Sunday afternoon.

Yoogali FC One coach Josh Bagiante knows his side probably didn’t deserve to get the three points.
“We were lucky. They played the better soccer out of the two defiantly,” he said.
“We played very scrappy, pretty ugly soccer really to be honest.”
It was a game where Wests were able to create a multitude of chances, however, were unable to find the crucial final touch which would have seen them take the lead.
It was the Yoogali side who took the lead after a chipped pass from the midfield found its way over the Wests defence and to the feet of Theodore Valeri.
Valeri then used all of his precision skill to knock the ball over the top of Jarrod Savage in the Wests goal to take a 1-0 lead.
Despite the best attempts from the Wests attacking players, they were unable to find the final piece of quality to bring the score back level before halftime.
Wests coach Luke Sharples looked dangerous playing in an attacking position and was combining with the wingers in Brendan Sibanda and Thomas King well, but it was the final ball into the area which was unable to find its target.
It was a stroke of good fortune for Wests which saw them bring the game back level after a good run into the box from King was deemed to have been stopped with the uses of a hand by the Yoogali defender.
King made the most of his opportunity from the penalty spot to bring the game level.
Unfortunately for Wests they were unable to capitalise properly on the chance they were creating and it would ultimately cost them.
It was Yoogali turn for a stroke of good fortune as a miscued shot from Pasquale Madaffari found its way to Roy Catanzariti and despite protests coming from Wests it was deemed Catanzariti was onside and he was able to turn and shot past Savage to take the match-winning lead.
Bagiante praised the way his back four performed throughout the game saying they made the real difference.
“Our defence is our strongest link in our team if it not for them we would be nowhere near where we were today,” he said.
“The four at the back was definitely our standout I can't really tell anyone else but apart from that everyone sort of had an ordinary game.”
The win sees Yoogali FC able to maintain pace with the top two sides while it leaves Wests still searching for their first win of the season.
