Griffith hairdresser Richard Brewer created a sensation when he announced his desire to wed under the alternative legal arrangement.
Evermore Pledge founder Michelle Anderson informed The Area News on Friday the pledge would cost $1990. The pledge combines the legal and financial aspects of marriage, enabling gay couples to wed despite Australia’s same sex marriage ban.
The legal arrangement covers aspects such next of kin, Wills, beneficiaries and other financial matters. It would not cover immigration and adoption matters.
Ms Anderson said doing each of these things separately can cost up to $20,000.
The first gay wedding under the Evermore Pledge will be held on 1 July.
