In the 26 years that I lived in Griffith, I got to know some exceptional Landlords such as Mrs Lanza, Mr Joe Catanzaritti, Tony Sergi, Griffith Real Estate, Rawlinson & Brown and Kathy Williams (Argyle).
Mrs Lanza and Kathy Williams are two people I will always fondly remember and of course Kellie from Needy Paws, a great source of inspiration and support.
Kellie was there ready to accept my two dogs, Snow and Rosie if I wasn't able to find accommodation that would accept them in Wollongong.
And a miracle happened.
Hope and Faith, these two kept me going.
Griffith has been an exceptional spiritual place to live, it brought me closer to understanding my own faith in God.
Griffith has proven that all religions can live peacefully side by side.

School consultation ‘farce’
The NSW Government, the Education Minister, our local MP and the Education Department officers continue to treat the people of Griffith with contempt.
At no time in the last nine months has the community of Griffith been shown the courtesy of being provided with a public meeting to which all the community was invited.
Wade High School did its best and held three meetings for parents, students, teachers, and interested locals.
Then there have been the three “community meetings”. Got no ticket? Go home! Only at the school’s insistence that the school Captains of Wade HS must be accompanied by a teacher did these students have someone sitting with them when they were told, out of nowhere, that their school was possibly going to be wiped out.
So, we the people, haven’t been good enough citizens to deserve an opportunity to meet in open forum where all our views and concerns could be heard. A fair and open process? In our dreams. Adrian Piccoli attended one of the Wade HS meetings. Current Education Minister, Rob Stokes, came to Griffith but…no public meeting.
Unfortunately, the answers weren’t, in many cases, answers to the questions they’d been asked. And, after nine months of this process the Government, highly-paid consultancy Sauce Communications, the DET and its superintendents were reminded that at no stage had the clerical, support or grounds staffs been included in the consultation.
There are so many questions that remain unanswered. Such as, “If the BIG SCHOOL option fails, who takes the blame?” Dead silence on that one. So before we go any further with this farcical process, would it be too much to ask the Minister for Education (including public education) to hold a real public meeting to which all of us have tickets and are invited?

Big calls on Syrian conflict
I am very disappointed with Donald Trump, I feel he might be just another American warmonger like Obama and Bush and the neocons before him.
Why did he bomb Syria?
Assad is the good guy, he’s on our side.
He stands for civilization, while all those opposed for him stand for barbarism and a return to the Dark Ages.
The Christians of Syria are the most enthusiastic supporters of the Assad regime, because they know under the Assad regime Christians in Syria and other minorities live in relative freedom.
