The side returned home after a good performance against Wagga Waratahs had the side coming into the game with confidence however their inability to play the full 80 minutes has cost the side again according to captain James Kanaley.
“We were going toe-to-toe in the first half, but again we let our concentration fall in the second half,” he said.
“It was a gut-wrenching loss given the performance we have put up in recent weeks against the Phantoms and Waratahs.
“We haven’t played a full 80 minutes yet this year and it is costing us.”
Kaneley said there were some pleasing aspects his side could take out of the match.
“Our line-outs and scrums were good and our attacking play was very dangerous,” he said.
The Blacks took a 17-15 lead into the break before some ill discipline cost them. Playing with a man down, Griffith struggled to contain a Reddies outfit with a numerical advantage.
The Blacks were two points up when it was 15 on 15, before CSU put on 24 straight points. They were up 44-22 before Griffith scored the last two tries, but it was a case of too little too late.
