The second round of the Southern Inland junior rugby union competition saw the Griffith Junior Rugby Union Club in Albury and its Under 16s side in Temora.

The Short Black Under 8 side was pretty much unstoppable racking up an 85-15 victory over the Leeton Phantoms before clocking up a 60-10 win over the Albury Steamers.
The pre-season work coach Jason Dossetor has invested in the team has paid off with each player demonstrating all the skills they have picked up at training.
Joe Belardo and Charlotte Star were just two of the stand out players in what was a team effort.
The Under 12s had two tough games against the Steamers and the Hay Whippersnippers. Facing an enormous Albury team on their turf proved to be too much for the Blacks, falling 7-24.
The team rallied to cut Hay down 24-22 following solid performances from Jasvir Singh and Harry Dartnell. At four tries each, it was the sharp shooting from Tom Taylor that proved the difference.
The U14s came away from Albury with two comfortable wins. With several players unavailable, the Blacks showed their class with a 53-7 win over Wagga before backing it up with a 39-10 win over the in form Leeton Phantoms.
The Viva Blackbirds U10s continued their good early season form, with a 20-10 win and a 15-15 draw against the host club Albury.
The Viva U13s found themselves involved in two tight matches. Nothing could separate the Blackbirds and Hay with both sides locked at 5-all at full time. Jodie Browne was the Blackbirds try scorer. In their second match, the Blackbirds scored a 10-5 win over Albury with Sophia Kelsey and Mackenzie Dunn, in her debut for the club, scoring the tries.
An under strength Viva 16s played a double header against the Leeton Diannas, dropping both games. The Blackbirds struggled in their first of the two games, losing 5-20 however showed their grit narrowly losing the second match 10-15.
Lucinda Star scored two tries and Charli Cunial crossed for the other try of the day. Coach Phil Parsons praised the team, particularly Laura Toscan who was a number of the U13s who played up an age division.
The Griffith Blacks U16s travelled to Temora for their match against the Tuskers to be soundly beaten. Due to player unavailability the match was played 13 aside, however it was a slow start hurt the Blacks chances as they conceded four tries in the first fifteen minutes.
To their credit Griffith, inspired by scrumhalf Bryn Francis, showed greater spirit and matched the host team for the remainder of the game.
The final score was 21-41 with Jesse James, Aisiah Taupeamuhu and Sonny Taupeamuhu the try scorers.
