The game is the Rhinos first foray into the FFA Cup and with it brings a new set of challenges. 

Rhinos coach Ross Morgan said the match has been marked on the calendar since the draw was made.

“They boys have been talking about the game for a while now,” he said.

“They have seen the competition being played out in the last couple of years and are now excited to taking part.”

While their opposition may be in a lower division, Morgan is under no illusion about the difficulty of the game. 

They are currently undefeated with four wins and two draws in their division and are coming into the game off the back of a 1-1 draw last weekend.

“They are one of the feeder teams for Woden Weston and have had a great start to their season,” he said.

“We are expecting a pretty tough encounter.”

The Rhinos are coming into the clash after a tough away game last weekend which saw them fall 7-0 and Morgan said the result came down to their mindset heading into the game.

“I think we underestimated Cooma,” he said.

“We dropped our tempo and that probably cost us quite a bit.”

The task won’t be easy as the side will be without Jacob Donadel and Lewis Burton who will miss the clash with injuries.

“It gives an opportunity for a couple of the 20s to step up,” he said.

“Michael Cimador has been lighting up the competition and Roy Catanzariti will also get an opportunity.”

The clash will be played Yellowtail Park in Yoogali and Morgan has urged people to get down and watch.

“The cup is magical you string a few results together and you never know what might happen,” he said.
