Study finds Australian adults clueless when it comes to allergies

A recent study has found while Australia has one of the highest food allergy rates in the “developed” world – four out of five adults would not know how to recognise if someone was having a fatal allergic reaction.

The findings of the national Galaxy Research study have alarmed experts who warned “allergy ignorance” could costs lives.

An estimated 650,000 Australians have been diagnosed with a food allergy, with around 30,000 new cases each year.
