First cab off the rank the theatre is welcoming back the talents of 18-year-old Elena Turunen.
No stranger to the stage, Elena played Babette in Beauty and the Beast and was involved in many of the Marion Catholic College’s musical productions.
Wicked will have Elena play Nessarose, a wicked witch who is a, “mix of a sweet, innocent and later to become feisty and wicked young lady,” Elena said.
She’s loving her character’s personality changes as the play unfolds, but finds wheeling herself around the stage in a wheelchair challenging.
When asked what most excites her about preforming in a musical she said, “the exhilarating feeling of being on stage.”
Of course Wicked is her favourite musical and she said Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody is her favourite song and she doesn’t like snakes and pizza is her meal of choose.
