Australian’s popular Beatles tribute band, The Beatle Boys, will be performing at Griffith Regional Theatre on 5 May.
“Our members have taken on some of the personality traits of our idols, as well as their musical style,” John Kater, AKA Paul McCartney, said.
The Beatles – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr – were four boys from Liverpool who formed a band in 1960 who become the biggest album sellers in rock history.
They sold more than 600 million albums worldwide and created much hysteria when they toured Australia in 1964.
The band disbanded in 1970, with some laying the blame on John Lennon’s wife Yoko Ono.
“We leave our Yoko at home,” John Kater said.
Nevertheless, he says the Beatle Boys will take fans back to the days when the Fab Four dominated the music charts.
“I remember the Griffith Regional Theatre really well, it’s one of the nicest I’ve ever seen,” Mr Kater said.
He says that audiences will hear every classic Beatles song that they have ever made, including 35 chart toppers that made the four ‘mop tops’ a part of our lives back in those heady days of the 60s .
The hits that are promised include Help, A Hard Day’s Night, Can’t Buy Me Love, Lucille, Twist & Shout, She Loves You, USSR, Long Tall Sally, Please Please Me, Please Mr Postman and I Wanna Hold Your Hand
“The energy at our shows is incredible. I reckon we’ll have everyone up on their feet for most of the night,” John Kater said
