Storms looked set to play havoc on proceedings but the rain was held at bay and racing went ahead.
Jason Severino and Byron Woolner were first up in the KA3 senior light.
Severino was amongst the action early when his brand new kart was launched a metre in the air. Luckily, the karter wasn’t hurt and a bent axle was the only problem with the kart.
By weekend’s end Severino claimed first with Woolner in second.
Noah Sands continued his fine form to claim third overall in the KA4 junior light.
John Ross Wood (first), Dean DeMarco (second) and William Wood (third) dominated tag 125 restricted light and filled the podium.
KA3 senior heavy had just one Griffith racer in Ben Jones. Luck wasn’t on his side, though, as Jones finished a creditable seventh.
In the cadet 12s William Garner and Ky Young were amongst the biggest field of the weekend. Garner drove well to claim 12th while Young battled with the new track before taking out 16th.
TAG 125 restricted heavy saw John Macey taking on newcomer to the class Blake Snaidero who proved he’s no easybeat to claim second with Macey close behind in third.
In other news, Ky Young will take his Warburn Estate kart to compete at the Grenfell race day this weekend.
A date to mark in the calendar will be Griffith Kart Club’s two-day meeting on April 8-9.
