The result may not have been what Daniel Woods wanted but there is a silver lining after he missed out on a place in the men’s physique open division at the Arnold Classic.

“I think it just motivates me,” Woods said of the Arnold Classic result.
Woods now has his sights set on the next bodybuilding season in October in search of a pro card.
A pro card would allow the mechanical fitter to take up bodybuilding full time.
At the moment, Woods starts his day at 2.30am where he knocks out a two-hour gym session followed by his 12-hour work day.
“What motivates me to go hard now is, if I get to the point of winning [my pro card], things would get a bit easier,” Woods said.
“I’m following a passion and chasing my dream job.”
Going hard would sound like an understatement to most.
Along with the long days, Woods will be tightening up his diet after a well-earned splurge following the Arnold Classic.
A diet of pizza and nutella saw Woods put on seven kilograms in just one week and the Griffith native will now work on stripping that back before October.
“I can eat a lot of carbs but my body doesn't like fats,” Woods said.
“I won’t have so much gluten and keep everything quite clean including the cheat meals.
“It’ll be stuff like having a healthy pizza from Crust opposed to Domino’s. We have a place here called Health Freak Cafe – so, have breaky and lunch there opposed to a big greasy burger.”
Above all, Woods said the support pushed him along.
“I’m still getting messages from people saying I’m an inspiration and the dedication motivates them. That’s enough to keep me going,” Woods said.
