THREE drivers where caught drink driving in the Griffith area in the space of 24 hours last weekend.

A 23-year-old male was charged with high-range drink driving and driving with an expired licence after he was arrested in Howlong Crescent at around 4.45am Saturday, March 25.
Officers were patrolling the area when they saw a white Tarago van do a U-turn and drive away. Police followed the vehicle into Howlong Crescent where the driver stopped the vehicle and walked into the front yard of a house.
When police approached the man, he claimed it was his house, however, further inquiries found this to be untrue. After refusing a breath test, the man was arrested and conveyed to Griffith Police Station where he returned a reading of 0.155.
The second driver was caught at around 10.45pm on Saturday, March 25 when Police stopped a vehicle on Mackay Avenue after he ignored a stop sing at the intersection of Macedone Road and Mackay Avenue.
The 36-year-old male was subjected to a breath test which returned a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Griffith Police Station for a breath analysis returning a reading of 0.140. The driver’s licence was immediately suspended and he was issued a notice to attend Griffith Local Court for mid-range drink driving and failing to stop at stop sign.
The third driver was caught just 45 minutes later when his vehicle was stopped on Clifton Boulevard for a random breath test.
The 24-year-old male returned a positive reading and was arrested and taken to Griffith Police Station for a breath analysis which returned a positive reading of 0.083. His licence was suspended immediately and was summons to appear before Griffith Local Court charged with mid-range PCA.

Police are appealing for information in relation to a break and enter at Darlington Point Public School.
Between 4pm Friday, March 24 and 10am Sunday, March 26, a store room at the school was broken into with sporting and entertainment items were removed.
Police were alerted to the theft by local residents when a number of items were located in a lane way near the rear of the school. Inquires are continuing to identify the offenders.
