Yanco-Wamoon hit the lead in the seventh minute for the Hawks to take a 6-0 lead before things got worse for TLU.
The Sharks had two players sin-binned within three minutes of each other as the sides started to fire up.
Despite playing out the rest of the half with just 11 players, TLU kept the score at 6-0 at the break.
Against the odds, the Sharks opened up the second half with back-to-back tries.
Jamie Denyer scored the first four-pointer for TLU before winger Corey Toole sped past his opposite number, evaded the cover defence and scored.
The tries gave TLU a 8-6 lead with 10 minutes left in the clash.
However, the Hawks weren’t done yet and Yanco-Wamoon regained the lead six minutes out from full-time.
Will Barnes snuck over and when the conversion was successful, the Hawks led 12-8. The scores would remain unchanged to hand Yanco-Wamoon the knockout victory.
