The son of Griffith City Council’s general manager Brett Stonestreet, Matthew Stonestreet, has faced court after it is alleged he stabbed his father on Wednesday morning.

The 29-year-old Stonestreet appeared in Griffith Local Court via video link on Thursday.
His matter was adjourned until Wednesday, April 26.
Stonestreet is yet to make a plea regarding his alleged guilt.
Police were called to the home on Hillam Drive at 5.45am on Wednesday morning after they received a call regarding a concern for welfare.
Upon arriving officers said they spoke with a 55-year-old man, who advised them he was concerned about the actions of a 29-year-old male at the property.
The 55-year-old entered the bedroom of the home where it is alleged he was attacked by the man who was armed with a knife, suffering multiple stab wounds.
Police intervened and the assailant was arrested without further incident.
News of the attack on the general manager was met with shock in the community, with residents horrified to hear of what had befallen the well-respected man.
