Bilbul’s Joel Brown and Goolgowi’s Jake Smith were both invited to join the Nitro Circus Live crew for the Griffith leg of the regional tour.

The freestyle motocross (FMX) duo will perform in front of family and friends and they couldn’t be more excited.

“It feels amazing, mate,” Brown said.

“To be able to do it [perform] in front of a hometown crowd is every rider’s dream.

“I rarely ride any shows here so it’ll be good to be able to do it at such a big one.”

Smith shared Brown’s sentiment.

“It’s perfect for me to be able to ride for Nitro for the first time in Griffith,” Smith said.

“Riding for Nitro is something I’ve always wanted to do and to be able to do it in front of family and friends – I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

Not only was Brown loving the opportunity to perform in front of the locals, but was pumped to be able to do it alongside Smith.

“He’s, kind of, been my apprentice for a fair few years now,” Brown said of Smith.

“Jake’s one of the best up and coming riders in the sport and it’s good to have him be a part of it as well.”

Brown also said it was a massive coup for the city to have Nitro Circus Live hit town.

“I actually couldn't believe it when they said Nitro was coming to Griffith,” Brown said.

“It’s good to have such a big event, it shows the town is growing.”

The pair will both be a part of the FMX crew at the event and while they didn’t know exactly what they’ll be doing, Brown said to be prepared for anything.

“I think people are going to be left a bit gobsmacked with what they see these guys do – they are pretty crazy,” he said on Wednesday.

A lot of the locals’ preparation for this Friday has been done at the Dal Broi’s property and Smith said it was an incredible gesture.

“We’re so thankful to Adrian and Kylie Dal Broi and their three kids Joel, Meg and Zac,” Smith said. “It was amazing for them to let us set our compound up here.”
