Recently retired director Neville Dwyer has been a driving force behind the relocation of the facility, bringing to fruition the new preschool at the former Exies bowling club, in the heart of the city.
Mr Dwyer cut the ribbon, with mayor John Dal Broi and state Member Adrian Piccoli journey, after a process he began over a decade ago.
The preschool is operated by Griffith Child Care Centre Inc, a community based, for-purpose, not-for-profit children's service provider.
Mr Dwyer previously spoke to The Area News about the preschool move signalling the start of a new era.
"We are moving Griffith Central Preschool from a very small building into a very grand building," he said.
"The building has been completely renovated. We restored aspects of the building and tried to keep as much of the integrity as possible.”
