Another great night was had by the A grade men's competition. Honours on the night went to Binit Shrestha and Jason Clifford. The standard of tennis seems to be getting better with everyone slowly working off the holiday rust.
Monday night ladies saw Stosur emerge as the new competition leader with a very close match (3-3) against Azarenka, stealing victory by one game and Williams is gaining momentum on the leader board, proving too strong for Kerber (4-2).
In tuesday night mixed, the Cougars were too good for Aggies (6-0), Black Magic had their first win over Schoolies (5-1), Nailed It had a win over Unstoppable (6-0) and Tourists accounted for Aces (5-1). Competition leaders remain Nailed It, Tourists and Cougars with consecutive wins.
In Wednesday night mixed Shud retained their unbeaten streak to defeat Double Trouble (6-0), Super Cool clocked up a win against One Hit Wonders (6-0), Hot Dates – also undefeated – brought home a win over Douche Bags (6-0), Nice Gary and Whatever battled it out (3-3) with Nice Gary edging home a win on game score and Young Guns knocked Bits and Pieces off the top of the table with a win (4-2).
A massive thank you to all those who volunteered their time at the working bee on Saturday and of course Jack Clifford, our reliable court-roller – the clay looks a million dollars.
