The Honourable Robert Brown, Chair of the inquiry said effective water management is critical to ensuring favourable economic, social and also environmental outcomes for rural and regional NSW.

"It gives the opportunity to address the burning issues,” she said.
“We are looking forward to it and hopefully the government will take the advice. We would like some of the recommendations to be followed.”
One of the recommendations Ms Dalton wants to see enacted is further reservoirs built downstream to help farmers when restrictions are put in place.
“Animals and plants need water to survive,” she said.
“More reservoirs would help us with protection when it conditions get warmer.
“Restricted supply of water can be very stressful on farmers.”
The committee will be holding a public meeting at Griffith City Council Chamber on March 1.
