A fire on the outskirts of Griffith has been brought under control, with the RFS downgrading its warning to surrounding residents from ‘watch and act’ to ‘advice’.

The fire was burning out of control along Kidman Way, between Tharbogang and Warburn.
Several properties in the area were under threat, with the RFS holing concerns for housing south of the blaze.
RFS units remain at the scene after issuing watch and act warnings for nearby residents on Wednesday morning.
Police closed Kidman Way to traffic for around two hours before reopening the road around 1pm.
Fire fighters brought the blaze under control with the help of aircraft, with the RFS calling in one of the largest craft in its fleet ‘Thor’ to take on the blaze.
Around 180 hectares of grassland was burnt up to 2pm and threats of a strong south-westerly wind changing direcetion and threatening to cross Kidman Way to the west have eased.
Residents are being urged to remain cautious and listen to fire crew advice throughout the afternoon and be prepared for evacuation.
The RFS also recommends nearby residents enact their bushfire survival plans.
Advice warnings have also been issued for fires burning norht of Goolgowi and on Brogden Road, Griffith.
