After being kept inside its own half for the opening five sets, East’s Johane Oberholzer turned the tables and opened the scoring when she sliced through the guts of Stomp’s defence.
Mel Foschi hit back for Stomp next set before defence came to the fore for both sides.
East did manage to cross twice more – through Oberholzer and Larnee McDonald – before the half-time buzzer sounded. The score remained 3-1 until midway through the second half.
East’s Casey Brown broke the deadlock which saw the attacking efforts ramp up a gear. In the end, East was took good to take a 7-4 win.
East will now meet Snow’s Excavations in the final – a replay of last year’s decider.
The men’s division one grand final will also feature the two 2015/16 finalists after Brothers moved through with a 7-6 win over Suman’s Engineering. They will take on Rawlinson & Brown.
