Micheal ‘Speedy’ Stratton and the Area News’ Liam Warren take a look at the potential final match-up as well as Australian cricket team’s tour of India.
Speedy: With Novak Djokovic going out in the second round and Sir Andy going out on Sunday the two top seeds are gone. I'm not sure how things are working with the draw with Nadal and Federer.
Liam: If Nadal and Federer make it though that will be the final.
Speedy: Federer played tremendous tennis on Sunday night while Nadal was ultra impressive on Monday night. The form they have been showing means they’ll be hard to beat.
Liam: They are rolling back the clock a bit those two. Who do you think will push them?
Speedy: I like the Canadian Milos Raonic he has a terrific serve and a good all-round game and he could be a danger to those two.
Liam: I think Stan Wawrinka would give them a run for their money after he won it last year.
Speedy: As far as the women’s goes it is hard to go past Serena Williams and her sister Venus has played well. She has a chance the way she is going. I tipped Serena and Djokovic to win last week.
Liam: You still have a chance to get halfway home and the men's will be a good final if Nadal and Federer meet. While we are on the topic of good performances what about the Aussies in the cricket?
Speedy: I was watching the one-dayer the other day between Australia and Pakistan which Australia won very convincingly and David Warner was absolutely fantastic. They rave about how good he is but you have to understand the Pakistanis don't have the best bowling attack.
Liam: The real test will come with the upcoming tour of India. That will test not only Warner but also the rest of the side.
Speedy: They have a good bowling attack and if they are able to get him out cheaply they will probably win the series.
Liam: He won his second straight Allan Border Medal overnight just to show his quality.
Speedy: I thought it would be close between him and big Mitch Starc but he defiantly deserves it.
Liam: Now we head off to take on the Kiwi’s again.
Speedy: They have rested a couple of players for the one-day series like Warner, which is good to keep them fresh before India.
Liam: There is a lot riding on the outcome of the India series with the winner taking top spot in the world.
