Volunteers have manned the barbecue and been part of the Australia Day celebrations since the museum became the official venue in 1990.
With more than 30 years of volunteering under his belt Renzo Rovere has barbecued at almost every breakfast since.
While the breakfast can draw upwards of 400 hungry guests making for lengthy barbecuing duties Mr Rovere does not see his volunteering as hard work but rather a service to his beloved community.
“This is just something I enjoy, I enjoy serving my community and being part of a team and all the work is worth it when you see the good it does and the smiles it brings,” Mr Rovere said.
“Everyone that comes here wants to celebrate Australia Day and we get to help them celebrate with the barbecue.”
Mr Rovere regards the museum as one of the best spots to celebrate Australia Day and encouraged everyone to come begin their celebrations with a barbecue breakfast.
“Australia Day is all about celebrating and enjoying Australia and being with friends and family,” he said.
“There is no better place to do that than surrounded by the history of Australia and Griffith and by nature,” he said.
The annual Australia Day breakfast will start at 7.30am at Griffith Pioneer Park Museum.
