Aidan Fattore and Adam Johnson – from the highest start time of 16 minutes – crossed the line first.
However, they destroyed their only other teammate along the way which means these two are headed toward a very lonely run for the next two weeks of the series.
Michael Johns put in a good effort to keep up and finished 30 seconds back but the most impressive finish was from the 12-minute group.
The 11-strong group crossed the line within a few seconds of each other – a gold medal performance.
Team nine in the short again got the gold medal with the group of four crossing in formation.
Congratulations goes to Rod Bortolin for completing his 3000 kilometres.
Bortolin said it “took me a while” but that doesn't matter once your name is on that plaque and the official portrait is on the website.
In the hotter weather runners need to drink plenty of water in the day and hours before the run as starting the run in a water deficit is a recipe for disaster.
Further details about running in the heat can be found on the joggers’ website.
Any runner not feeling 100 per cent should consider staying at home.
The joggers run each Saturday at 5:30pm from the water tower opposite Pioneer Park with a choice of long or short courses over the tracks and trails of Scenic Hill, be early to register.
