A single stableford at the Griffith Golf Club last Saturday saw 57 players challenge the course, which was in superb condition.

Ryan Harrison, 42 points, won A Grade, nailing a string of birdies on the 2nd, 16th, and 17th. Col Leeson, 40 points, was runner-up, scoring a birdie on the 10th.
Charlie Guglielmino, 41 points, won B Grade, scoring 21 out and 20 home with eight pars ahead of Neil McAntee, 38 points. He carded 21 points out with five pars but only managed 17 in with two pars.
There were very ordinary scores in C Grade. Bruce Smith took the win on 33 points, one par on a countback over John Harrison, 33 points.
Pro Pins were won by Dick Thompson and Slim Cavanaugh. Par Threes, 4th. John Harrison, 7th. Wayne Bottcher, 11th. John Bortolazzo, 16th. Bob Painting. Vouchers to 34 points.
There were enough players for two grades in Sunday’s single stableford.
Wayne Tyndall, 39 points, won the 0-18 Grade, draining a birdie on the 15th, to go with nine pars.
Alf Franchi, 37 points, finished second, carding six pars.
Don Hillam, 35 points, won 19-36 Grade, scoring 20 out and 15 home with a four point par on the 4th. Runner-up was John Ellis, 32 points.
Chris Richards won the pin on the 7th, Paul Piccoli 11th. Vouchers went to 33 points.
Members are reminded of the important special meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 24th.,at 6.30pm, to vote on whether the club should put three of its poker machine entitlements up for tender.
Members are also advised that membership fees should be paid by March 31st.
The McNabb 5/s competition resumed on Monday, January 9th. It is a new competition that will conclude at the end of March. New players are welcome.
Two important competitions are coming up. On Sunday January 22nd, the NRMA Auto Club 4 Ball Aggregate will be held. Winners go on to play at Royal Pines in May.
On Sunday, January 29th, the qualifier for the Red Gum Plate will be held. This is also a 4 Ball Aggregate, 32 pairs to qualify.
The veterans played a two grade single stableford last Thursday. Tony McBride, 40 points, won 0-18 Grade, Arthur Longmore, 36 points, finished second.
Graeme Gifford, 38 points, won 19-36 Grade on a countback over Denis Moran, 38 points.
Peter Den Houting won the 4th and 7th pins, John Gale 16th.
Vouchers to 38 points.

Derek Langford, 40 points, won 19-36 Grade, four point par on the 12th, over Graeme Gifford, 37 points, birdies on the 7th. and 12th.
