Grief is such a complex concept that affects everyone differently.

It’s easy enough to say that time heals all wounds, but in many cases it really doesn’t.
People just learn to live with the pain.
It’s important for someone that is struggling to deal with grief of any kind to talk about it or even seek professional help in some cases.
This also rings true for someone that may be suffering from depression or mental illness, whether it be related to grief or not.
The more people seek help or speak to those about their problems, the better it is for everyone.
Many organisations and groups, even in the local area, are working extremely hard to ensure the stigma surrounding mental health is blown out of the water.
It is no longer acceptable to judge someone that may be experiencing a rough time due to mental illness.
However, it is perfectly acceptable to talk about the issue with family and friends.
The more mental health is discussed out in the open, the more those that suffer will understand it’s normal to want to be helped.
Bottling issues such as grief up certainly doesn’t do anyone any good.
Unfortunately, it’s a fact of life that we will all undergo the grieving process at some stage and it never seems to get easier.
There is plenty one can do even if it doesn't involve wanting to see a professional.
Some choose to work through their pain alone and that’s something that works for them, others opt to surround themselves with friends and family.
The one thing it is important to do is not to mask these feelings of pain and grief with things such as alcohol or drugs.
While it may seem a way to escape the pain, doing so only serves to cause more harm than good.
While the pain of losing someone never really goes away, it’s always important to remember that person in the way one feels is best. Let’s all do our part to help someone that is struggling and hopefully the horror start to 2017 will not continue.
