FREIGHTLINK Young Gunz lived up to their name to shoot down Oz Fire in a high scoring Griffith Touch Football men's division five clash at Ted Scobie Oval on Monday night.
In putting Oz Fire to the sword to the tune of 18-4, Young Gunz kept its undefeated record intact this season as the team cemented its place in the top four.
Such is their dominance in the lopsided division, Young Gunz have scored an incredible 42 touchdowns in the opening month of the competition.
Despite the massive score against them, Oz Fire were the first on the board in the blink of an eye, but their lead would be quickly erased as Lio Seukeni scored back-to-back.
Michael Uin looked dangerous in attack for Young Gunz early, and his side's score was quickly blown out to 5-1 thanks to touchdowns by Archie Cranston, Kevin Myers and Philip Teopenga.
George Broome set up Seukeni for his hat-trick with plenty of time left in the first half allowing the Young Gunz to run the score up to 9-1 at the break.
Despite their chances of victory all but gone, Oz Fire continued to push forward and score consolation tries, but for much of the second half the status quo remained as Young Gunz showed their agility and speed off the mark.
As the score hit 15-1, Oz Fire scored a well-deserved try through Michael Ison which actually sparked a mini comeback as the boys in red scored the next two touchdowns.
But another two easy efforts, including one to Jason Miller, wrapped up the rout.
