Australia Post expects the delivery day to be the biggest delivery day in the nation's history, as posties drop off more than two million parcels around the country.
Thousands of those parcels are set to be delivered to Griffith residents with Griffith post office also experiencing a Christmas rush.
Australia Post Executive General Manager Parcels Bob Black said the rush is driven by shoppers taking advantage of online shopping, with more people opting to purchase Christmas gifts online than ever before.
"We're finding close to 30 per cent of all online purchases occur in the three months leading up to Christmas, and that's on the back of a 15.9 per cent growth in online shopping this year," Mr Black said.
Additional posties and delivery drivers were called in to handle the extra load, while an additional 1500 employees were on hand to help staff in processing facilities.
