It’s a far different predicament for Diggers than the last time the two teams met.
The sides met in round four and they both came into the game with undefeated records.
This time around, Exies some into the match on the back of two wins and still sit atop the ladder while Diggers are out to crack a five-match losing streak – a run which started against Exies.
It will be the Diggers last change for the year to claim some much needed points while a win for Exies would just about guarantee the side top spot heading into the second half of the season.
The round nine match marks the last of the timed matches until next year.
Next weekend, the first grade competition will fight it out for the annual Don ‘Captain’ Coleman Twenty20 Shield. The round games will be played over the weekend with the final to take place on Sunday afternoon.
The match on Saturday starts at 1pm.
